GAINESVILLE, Ga. — North Hall’s Kaleb Sexton and Campbell Payton allowed just three hits in combining for a 4-0 shutout win over North Forsyth on Wednesday at Lynn Cottrell Field.
However, Sexton was locked in an earlier pitcher’s duel with the Raiders’ Kyle Roper as the game was scoreless through the two three innings. Roper would go three innings allowing four hits and two runs and striking out five.
North Hall (2-0) finally broke through in the third on a two-run single from Charlie Wright. The Trojans added on in the fourth when Andrew Hlavacek doubled in a pair of runs off Brayden Weems for a 4-0 lead.
Sexton, who went five innings and struck out 8, and Payton, who pitched the final two innings giving up two hits, dominated the rest of the way.
Seth Dixon and Kyle Duckwall pitched the final 2 1/3 innings for North Forsyth (0-1) and did not surrender a hit.
Brady Holbrook, Mason Glennon, Austin McCabe, and Colin Seabold all had a hit for North Forsyth.
Wright and Ajay Jones both had two hits for North Hall.

Ty Corbin doubled in Jacob Vokal in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Bears (2-0) a thrilling walk-off win at home on Wednesday.
Bluff had led most of the way, getting single runs in the third and fifth innings for a 2-0 lead. But the Warriors (3-1) scratched for a run in the sixth and tied it in the seventh on an unearned run.
Brady Stephens started for the Bears and went four innings allowing just one hit and fanning five. Vokal got the win in relief, pitching the final 1 1/3 innings giving up no hits, walking two, and striking out three.
Corbin had a perfect day at the plate with two hits and two walks in four plate appearances and an RBI. Vokal had a hit, and Bryce England had an RBI for the Bears.
