WALNUT GROVE, Ga. — After a rough Monday for Hall County boys teams in the Region 8-4A Tournament, the girls put together a solid Tuesday.

East Hall and Chestatee both advanced to the semifinals of the Region 8-4A Tournament on Tuesday at Walnut Grove. North Hall made it a perfect trifecta, holding off Madison County, 48-33, at Lynn Cottrell Court.

The Lady War Eagles came in as the No. 2 seed from the North and rolled past South No. 3 seed Cedar Shoals, 56-44. The Lady Vikings, however, pulled the biggest upset of the tournament so far. East Hall edged out South No. 1 seed and ninth-ranked Walnut Grove, 55-52, to advance to its first state playoffs since 2018.

Chestatee and East Hall will meet on Thursday at the Lynn Cottrell Complex in the semifinals.

For East Hall, Callie Dale drained 8 3-pointers as part of her 26 points as the Lady Vikings (11-16) have won four straight, including knocking off both the top two teams in the South subregion in consecutive games. East Hall opened with a 19-13 first quarter and was able to hold off the Lady Warriors (19-6) in the fourth quarter.

Maleah Harrison had 12 points and Kaylana Curry 8 for East Hall. Teaira Kelley paced Walnut Grove with 15 points. Niera Ovalles and Makayla Battle each had 11 for the Lady Warriors.

For Chestatee, Riley Black poured in 22 points as they led from nearly start-to-finish. Caroline Bull added 12 points and Payton Cable 10 for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee led 29-19 at the half and extended the lead to 42-27 heading into the fourth.

Ashley Lester had a game-high 24 for Cedar Shoals.

For North Hall, a 10-1 second quarter helped blow open a close game. The Lady Trojans led just 11-10 after the opening period but would take a 21-11 into halftime.

Madison County trimmed the lead to 33-25 but North Hall outscored the Lady Red Raiders 15-8 down the stretch.

Genesis Satterfield continued her strong play of late leading North hall with 14 points. Athena Vachtsevanos added 13 and Amelia Shoemaker had 10 for the Lady Trojans.

North Hall will play the winner of the North Oconee-East Forsyth quarterfinal on Thursday.

The North Hall girls were one of three Hall County girls teams, along with Chestatee and East Hall, to advance to the semifinals of the Region 8-4A Tournament and qualify for the state playoffs on Tuesday.
