For the second week in a row, average gas prices declined across the state of Georgia.
According to the latest report from AAA Monday morning, the average price for a gallon of regular in the state is $3.25. That's eight cents lower than last week and 14 cents lower than two weeks ago, when prices first started to dip.
AAA Spokeswoman Montrae Waiters said the trend could continue.
“If gas demand and crude oil costs remain low, drivers will likely see pump prices dip this week," Waiters said.
Georgia is still seeing cheaper prices than the national average, which was $3.41 per gallon as of Monday morning. The Northeast Georgia region is largely seeing prices even lower than the state average, with Hall County averaging $3.13 per gallon and Stephens County having the cheapest in the area at an average of $3.11.
The cheapest average prices in Georgia are in Lee County in Southwest Georgia at $3.02 per gallon. The most expensive are in Hancock County in Middle Georgia at $3.54 per gallon.
