FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Amelia Dovie scored with just 90 seconds left in regulation to give Cherokee Bluff a thrilling 3-2 win over Jackson County in a battle of 2022 playoff teams.

The winning score was created by a Jackson County turnover and Genesis Gamez beat a defender and centered a beautiful cross to Dovie on the run for the on touch-tap shot down the middle to beat the Lady Panthers keeper.

Eva Martin had the other two goals for the Lady Bears (3-1). Ana Gessner and Alyssa Stringer each had 1 assist for Bluff, as did Gamez on the game-winning goal.

Avery Fowler had 6 saves in goal for Cherokee Bluff.

The Lady Bears are off until next Tuesday when they travel to Class 7A Lambert.

Senior Sarah Greiner scored all four goals for the Lady Falcons (2-0) in a Copa 985 league match at East Hall Stadium.

Greiner wasted little time notching her first goal just five minutes into the match. She got her second goal, assisted by junior Jasmine Le, in the 35th minute for a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Nine minutes into the second half Greiner got the hat trick and she finished off the scoring in the 65th minute for the final goal.

Branch next will hold its home-opener on Friday against Dacula.
