The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office arrested two men from Texas on Wednesday after they attempted to flee from authorities in a vehicle with a stolen license plate.

According to a social media post from the agency, Brandon Davis, 40, and Wallace Thomas, 24, both of Houston, Texas, are facing a series of charges in Forsyth County as well as several other jurisdictions.

The Sandy Springs Police Department alerted the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday that a vehicle with a stolen tag from their jurisdiction was entering Forsyth County. A deputy located the car in an apartment complex in South Forsyth County and attempted to pull it over, but the driver of the vehicle, Davis, attempted to flee.

"The vehicle led our deputies on a brief chase around the complex jumping a curb to get away from the deputy when they met the nice 2nd deputy joining in the chase," the social media post said. "He promptly rendered the suspect vehicle undrivable with a P.I.T. maneuver."

Davis remained in the vehicle, but Thomas and another suspect fled on foot away from the vehicle.

Thomas reportedly jumped over a concrete wall, falling 15 feet into a retention pond.

"After an injured leg and foot, he attempted to give a fake ID to the deputies," the social media post said. "We asked him how to spell the name on the ID, his grade school grammar failed him in his decision-making again."

The third suspect escaped capture and was still at large as of the last report. The agency did not release the third suspect's name.

Deputies searched the vehicle with the stolen tag and located a chain, a large yellow crowbar, two tow hooks used by tow truck drivers and a 12,000-pound alloy steel winch hook. The agency said the assortment of tools is typically used to burglarize ATMs. Additionally, a phone located in the vehicle had GPS directions displayed on the screen with the destination set to a nearby Credit Union.

A further background check of the suspects revealed both had been arrested and convicted multiple times for burglaries of businesses in other states. Thomas also had several extradition warrants out of Texas and Missouri, including one for theft from an ATM in Missouri.

Davis was charged in Forsyth County with criminal trespass/damage to property, affixing tag to conceal or misrepresent, fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, theft by receiving, loitering and prowling, conspiracy to commit a felony, and possession of tools for commission of a felony.

Thomas was charged with loitering and prowling, obstruction, false name and date of birth, identity fraud, possession of tools for commission of a felony, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Both are being held without bond.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office posted body camera footage from the incident on social media, which can be viewed by clicking here.
