Two people are facing several drug trafficking and possession charges following a brief chase through Habersham County's city of Baldwin this week.
A release from Habersham County spokesman Rob Moore says Ronald Lindsey Bafile of Columbia and Megan Nichole Bafile of Dahlonega face similar trafficking methamphetamine, possession of meth to distribute, possession of Xanax and other charges after leading Sheriff's deputies on a brief chase from Baldwin Tuesday night along 365 northbound by Hayes Automotive.
Law enforcement eventually stopped the Bafiles along 365 with a pit maneuver by Kudzu Hill Drive.
Ronald Bafile also faces charges of attempting to elude law enforcement, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug-related objects, tampering with evidence, and littering from a motor vehicle.
Megan Bafile faces additional charges of possession of drug-related objects, tampering with evidence, littering from a motor vehicle, obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Both were held in Habersham County Detention Center, as of the last update.
