With our Hard Left Turn crew getting ready for the holidays, they decided to jump into the Wayback Machine and travel back to the 1979 NASCAR Cup Series season finale at Ontario Motor Speedway.
On this week's podcast, the HLT team goes all the way back to November 18, 1979 at the legendary - and soon to be demolished - California speedplant, where Richard Petty and Darrell Waltrip faced off for the season championship in the Los Angeles Times 500.
On the line for Petty was a then unprecedented seventh title, while the upstart Waltrip was eager to dethrone The King to earn his first championship.
