A man from Toccoa was killed in a single-wreck Friday afternoon just north of the city.
According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, the wreck happened at about 2 p.m. on Prather Bridge Road near Camp Mikell Road.
40-year-old Rory Winsor was driving a Honda CRV south on Prather Bridge when the vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the roadway, eventually striking a tree. GSP says Winsor was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The Georgia State Patrol also said drugs and alcohol are believed to be suspected factors in the incident.
