A man from Gainesville's homeless community has died following a reported railway accident in the city on Thursday and has now been identified.
Officials with the Hall County Sheriff's Office said Willie Howard Luna, 49, of Gainesville, was struck and killed by a train.
Luna's next of kin have been notified, according to investigators.

A man from Gainesville's homeless community has died from a reported railway accident in the city on Thursday.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office said in a press release the 49-year-old male was walking along railroad tracks with another person at Georgia Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. near Industrial Boulevard when a train approached both people.
The victim reportedly did not move off the tracks after the train conductor sounded their horn, while the second person was able to escape while the train reportedly tried to stop.
The Sheriff's Office said the victim was pronounced dead at the collision scene.
Authorities are withholding his name until relatives can be notified as the case remains under investigation.
