ATHENS, Ga. — The 2024 Georgia football schedule was officially released during the Southeastern Conference Football Schedule Reveal show on ESPN and the SEC Network on Wednesday night.
Georgia’s schedule is highlighted by the first trip to Austin since 1958 as the Bulldogs will face Texas on Oct. 19. This will mark the first season for both Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC as the league expands to 16 teams.
In addition to its SEC opener against Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., on Sept. 14, Georgia returns to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to face Alabama on Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. The Bulldogs’ first home conference game will arrive on Oct. 5 against Auburn. Georgia is slated to conclude its SEC regular season schedule at Ole Miss on Nov. 9, marking the team’s first trip to Oxford, Miss., since 2016.
The Bulldogs’ schedule features eight league contests as usual and a pair of open dates. However, next season, the SEC will eliminate divisional standings, so the SEC Championship Game will feature the two top teams in the conference standings at the end of the regular season.
The Bulldogs will begin 2024 in Atlanta versus Clemson in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium during the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game on Aug. 31, which is the first of four non-conference opponents in 2024. Following a matchup against Tennessee Tech in Athens on Sept. 7, Georgia will wrap up its regular season versus Massachusetts (Nov. 23) and Georgia Tech (Nov. 30) in Sanford Stadium.
No. 6 Georgia (12-1) continues the 2023 postseason at the Capital One Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium versus No. 5 Florida State (13-0) on Dec. 30. ESPN will televise the matchup at 4 p.m.
