The Georgia Bureau of Investigation released on Monday the identity of a man who was found dead in mid-October near Aviation Boulevard in Gainesville.

According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Scott Robert Danner, 63, was a member of Gainesville's homeless community. The GBI used fingerprints to identify Danner.

His body was located in a wooded area on Oct. 14 by a citizen who was walking around the parking area of the Department of Driver Services on Aviation Boulevard. That citizen was waiting for someone inside the building. The citizen notified DDS employees who then called 911.

Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff's Office are still waiting for the results of the final autopsy and toxicology exam before announcing Danner's cause of death.

"At this time, investigators do not suspect foul play in Mr. Danner's death," the release said.

HCSO investigators are asking any of Danner's relatives to contact the agency at (770) 533-7813.

"While we typically do not release identities of deceased persons prior to next of kin notification, our investigators have been unable to locate any of Mr. Danner's relatives," the release said.
