For more than 70 years, the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County has recruited local high school students as Belle candidates and paired them with a local civic or non-profit organization to help raise awareness and funds about their initiatives.
Each year belle candidates are named ahead of the Charity Ball and raise money on behalf of the civic organization they represent. The belle who raises the most money is named Belle of the Ball.
This year’s Belle Candidates, all high school seniors include:
- Quinn Davis, representing Gainesville Jaycee
- Emilee Haynes, representing WomenSource
- Caroline Pope, representing Rotary Club of Gainesville
- Kate Rogers, representing Rape Response, Inc.
- Avery Wood, representing South Hall Rotary Club
- Annesley Redeker, representing the Boys & Girls Club of Lanier
The 2023 JLGHC honor of Belle of the Ball belongs to Rotary Club of Gainesville's representative, Caroline Pope.
League President, Darby Shank announced before the crowning of the Belle of the Ball on Saturday night that this year's six candidates raised more than $375,000 overall.
