A woman from Mt. Airy was walking along Dicks Hill Parkway in Habersham County Saturday night when she was struck by a vehicle and killed.
The woman has been identified as Mia Y. Alvarez, 21, of Mt. Airy, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Alvarez was reportedly walking along Dicks Hill Parkway at approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday when she was struck in the northbound lanes.
Alvarez’s injuries proved to be fatal and she died at the scene, officials said Sunday.
The vehicle that struck Alvarez left the scene immediately after impact and GSP has been unable to identify the vehicle or driver as of the last report.
