Despite the lowest temperatures so far this season, the National Weather Service has placed most of Northeast Georgia under a Fire Danger Statement for Wednesday.

The statement is due to low relative humidity and possible high winds across the area. Every county in Northeast Georgia except for Habersham, Rabun and Stephens counties are included in the statement.

Anyone looking to burn outdoors is advised to use caution and check with their local jurisdiction for any potential temporary burn bans.

The area under the Fire Danger Statement extends beyond Northeast Georgia to western and central parts of the state.
