ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia junior tight end Brock Bowers has been named one of 10 semifinalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year for the second year in a row, according to an announcement from the Walter Camp Football Foundation Tuesday.

Bowers, a native of Napa, Calif., is one of only two players from the Southeastern Conference on the list.  Bowers is already a Rotary Lombardi Award finalist and a semifinalist for the Maxwell, Biletnikoff and Mackey awards.

Bowers joined quarterback Stetson Bennett as a 2022 Walter Camp Player of the Year semifinalist.  Herschel Walker (1982) is the only Bulldog to garner this honor.

Three finalists will be announced on Nov. 28 and the winner will be announced during The Home Depot ESPN College Football Awards on Dec. 8.

Bowers has a team-high 661 receiving yards on 51 catches and six receiving touchdowns in only nine games during Georgia’s undefeated start.  He also has six carries for 28 yards and a score on the ground.  Bowers has 10 100-yard receiving games in his career and has led the Bulldogs in receiving four games this year.

No. 1 Georgia (11-0, 8-0 SEC) concludes its regular season at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta versus Georgia Tech (6-5, 5-3 ACC) on Saturday.  ABC will televise the matchup at 7:30 p.m.

Brock Bowers (19) is tackled during a game earlier this season.
