The Gainesville Police Department Monday made an arrest following a Saturday night shooting of a juvenile victim along Atlanta Highway.
Police responded to the original incident at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday, which occurred at 1736 Atlanta Highway, according to department officials. Upon arrival, officers found a 16-year-old victim who had been shot in the abdomen.
The victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in stable condition.
Police obtained information that eventually led to a vehicle and suspect description, authorities said Monday. Three juveniles, 15, 16 and 16, were found in a vehicle located off Atlanta Highway, all of whom were detained.
The shooter, a 15-year-old male, reportedly fled on foot.
The Gainesville Police Department has charged the three juveniles with party to the crime of aggravated assault and obstruction.
The shooter was discovered Monday at a Gainesville residence and subsequently charged with aggravated assault.
All four of the juveniles are being held at the Gainesville Regional Youth Detention Center.
