Hall County residents looking to dispose of old tires can do so for free on Thursday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hall County Landfill.

Residents may dispose up to 10 tires and they must be 20 inches or less in diameter and not attached to a wheel.

Tractor-trailer, farm and agricultural tires will not be accepted.

Vehicles with more than 10 tires will be charged for overages and car tags will be recorded to limit the amount of tires per vehicle.

All costs for this event are covered by a grant from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD).

“This is a service we are always excited to offer to the residents of Hall County,” Solid Waste Superintendent Nathan Smith said. “Tire Amnesty Days allow folks to legally and safely dispose of old tires, keeping them from being left behind elsewhere or on the side of the roadway.”

The Hall County Landfill is located at 1700 Oakbrook Drive, Gainesville and is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The facility is closed on Sundays.
