DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Five offensive possessions in the first half ended in the endzone for Lumpkin County as they cruised to a 52-6 win over Gordon Lee Friday night.

The win marks the first-ever playoff win in program history for the Indians. They were 0-for-6 coming into the game, including 0-2 in home playoff games.

Lumpkin reeled off 21 points in the first quarter, with Mason Sullens scoring first, followed by a 46-yard pass from Cal Faulkner to Luke Evans. Faulkner ran in from two yards out to end the quarter up 21-0. The junior quarterback then hooked up with Nolan Matthews for 46 yards before running in from 36 yards for his second rushing score of the game to take a 35-0 lead into the half.

The Indians didn't stop there as Sullens found paydirt once more from nine yards away in the third quarter. After the starters came out and the second-team offense got down to the red zone, Will Staples tacked on a 37-yard field goal to push the lead to 45-0. The Trojans scored on a pick-six midway through the fourth before Caleb Wendl wrapped the scoring with a 44-yard sprint.

The Indians put up 523 yards of offense, led by 127 on the ground from Sullens and 176 through the air from Faulkner.

Lumpkin will now have a chance to get some revenge for last year's opening-round loss to Oconee County as they will host the Warriors next week in the Gold City.
