“It involved about 40 acres, the best we can tell,” Habersham County Emergency Services Battalion Chief Michael Alexander said.

The fire was more specifically located on U.S. Forest Service land off Ben Loudermilk Road.

Habersham County personnel assisted in the response, which was fully turned over to the USFS at 1:30 p.m., Moore said.
