AAA of Georgia shows the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline today (Monday) is below three dollars, at $2.96.
That's five cents down from a week ago, 30 cents down from one month ago and 20 cents below the average at this time last year.
It now costs an average of $44.40 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Georgians are paying $13.00 less to fill up at the pump compared to a month ago.
Hall County commuters are seeing their average price near $2.83 per gallon with only Stephens and Dawson Counties seeing a lower average price in Northeast Georgia.
Montrae Waiters of AAA says that Georgia, Mississippi and Texas have the lowest average prices nationwide with Georgia's suspension of the gas tax and low demand as key factors for our low rate.
Waiters does warn, however, that the volatility in the Middle East could spread in the region, and may cause future prices to rise.
