Five Gwinnett County Public Schools high school seniors have been selected as semi-finalists for the 2023-2024 Coca-Cola Scholars Program.
The students are among the group of 1,514 semi-finalists chosen from 103,800 applicants.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is the largest corporate-sponsored, achievement-based scholarship program in the country. Semi-finalists are selected based on qualities such as leadership, academic achievements, and dedication to their community. With the addition of this year’s class, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation will have provided more than 6,900 Coke Scholars nationwide with more than $84 million in scholarships over 36 years.
The semi-finalists will now complete Phase Two applications, which require candidates to provide an essay, a recommendation, and a transcript to be reviewed by an independent selection committee. The committee will recommend 250 Regional Finalists in early January to participate in online interviews. From there, one hundred fifty finalists will be announced in February to receive a Coca-Cola Scholarship worth $20,000.
The scholarship-winning students will also be invited to attend the Coca-Cola Scholars Weekend in Atlanta, April 25-28. Those students will be the guests of honor at the 36th annual Coca-Cola Scholars Banquet and participate in the Coca-Cola Scholars Leadership Development Institute facilitated by program alumni.
