Duluth police recently arrested a man on sexual battery and public indecency charges after an alleged incident in a ride-sharing service.
A social media post from the Duluth Police Department Thursday said Antonio Cartagena, age 25, was arrested on Tuesday after an investigation identified him as the suspect in the case.
Police officials said Cartagena was the rear-seat passenger using Lyft when allegedly inappropriately touched the 55-year-old female driver, who turned around and reportedly saw Cartagena partially nude and "engaging in lewd acts." The incident happened near the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road and North Berkeley Lake Road.
Cartagena reportedly fled the scene before later being identified and arrested. He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on charges of Sexual Battery and Public Indecency. He was released early Wednesday morning on more than $11,000 bond.
