The Boys and Girls Clubs of Lanier's 2023, "Be Great Gala" will highlight a year of growth for the organization.
The event will be held at Lanier Tech's Ramsey Conference Center on Thursday, October 19th between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. and will allow the Boys & Girls Clubs the opportunity to honor those who have shown support for their programs.
Former University of Georgia and New England Patriots wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell is this year's keynote speaker. Mitchell is an advocate for literacy and has founded the youth literacy nonprofit, the "Share the Magic Foundation".
Also at the event, Dr. & Mrs. Wiley and Judy Black will be presented with the Phillip Sartain Helping Hand Award in recognition of their unwavering commitment to the lives of thousands of children.
This yearly event allows the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier an opportunity to honor those who have shown support and commitment to the Clubs, as well as to hear from young people whose lives have been positively impacted by the programming the Boys & Girls Clubs offer.
It highlights the services and community outreach programs provided across 25 Club sites in Hall, Habersham, Gwinnett and Forsyth counties to 7,500 youth, ages 6-18, annually.
