The Habersham County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia State Patrol issued over 100 citations on Sunday from a speed enforcement detail called Sunday Slow Down.
Habersham County Sherrif Joey Terrel said in a Facebook post that troopers and deputies saturated SR 365 and SR 15 from the Rabun County line to the Hall County line.
“During the six hour operation, the Sheriff's Office made 58 contacts resulting in 36 speeding citations, nine other citations and 11 warnings,” Terrel said.
In total officials issued 95 speed citations, 23 other citations, seven seatbelt citations, one reckless driving citation, one distracted driving citation, two DUI arrests and one drug arrest.
Authorities issued 118 citations in total during Sunday Slow Down.
