The Hall County Government announced the closure of the Williams Mill Greenspace on Monday in Flowery Branch for sewer project work.

The work began Monday and is scheduled to be completed Sunday, October 22.

“This project is a major undertaking and an integral piece of the Hall County Strategic Plan and Master Sewer Plan that will bring sewer service to thousands of residents in the area,” Hall County Public Works Director Bill Nash said.

Hall County officials said the trail system leading into Williams Mill will be closed to the public while the work is in progress.

“The Friendship Road Sewer Project will be ongoing with completion anticipated in the fall of 2024,” Nash said. “Williams Mill Green space will continue as part of the project, with additional temporary closures to be expected as the project reaches new phases and milestones throughout the next year.”

During the work officials recommend using Cherokee Bluffs Park which has amenities including a trail system, a dog park, a playground and historic features.
