JEFFERSON, Ga. — With just one week and three games left in the regular season, Jefferson dropped a crucial game to Loganville at home on Wednesday.

The Lady Red Devils scored six runs in the fifth to erase an early deficit en route to a 9-5 win over the Lady Dragons.

The loss dropped Jefferson (15 – 6,11-4 Region 8-5A) two games behind first place Eastside in the standings. Eastside won 2 of 3 games in the series with the Lady Dragons during the season.

After Loganville had taken a quick 2-0 lead in the first, Avery Hays homered for Jefferson to jump-start a three-run inning. Alivia Gober also had a RBI hit in the innings.

It stayed that way until Loganville’s big fifth inning.

Gober finished with two of Jefferson’s seven hits.

Addison Self took the loss for Jefferson, allowing nine runs (eight earned) on 12 hits. She struck out one.
