Two doubleheaders on the Friday night slate of huge region matchups will be broadcast live on the Jacobs Media airwaves.
On AM 550 and FM 102.9 WDUN, Class 4A eighth-ranked Chestatee (15-4, 7-1 Region 8-4A North) will welcome rival North Hall (13-5, 6-2 Region 8-4A North). The Lady War Eagles have won six straight and can sweep the season series with a win. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Chestatee boys (12-7, 5-1 Region 8-4A North) head into the game with their arch-rivals needing a win to stay at the top of the region standings with Cherokee Bluff. North Hall (9-9, 3-3 Region 8-4A North) also needs a win. It should be a very interesting doubleheader in Sardis.
On AM 1240 and 94.5 FM The Lake, Gainesville travels to Snellville to battle Shiloh in a crucial Region 8-6A matchup. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
The boys game is the most intriguing contest, however. Shiloh (7-10, 3-2 Region 8-6A) has been battling injuries, so don't let the record fool you. Shiloh is good, and so is Gainesville (11-6, 4-1 Region 8-6A). The Red Elephants will have their hands full but should escape with a win to stay second in the region standings.
On the girls side, the Lady Red Elephants (16-1, 4-1 Region 8-6A), who are playing well and are No. 2 in the region standings, should walk out of Shiloh (6-10, 2-3 Region 8-6A) with a win. Shiloh, however, will give Gainesville its best shot.
