Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services on Friday morning were called to put out a house fire in Dacula.

Firefighters arrived at 5:03 a.m. to a two-story house with heavy fire involvement in the 3500 block of Jim Moore Road NE. The 911 caller told crews that the fire may have started in the basement.

Crews completed a walk-around of the structure and deployed hose lines.

Two adults and two children were inside the home during the fire, and smoke alarms alerted them to leave the building. The family denied assistance from the American Red Cross and will be staying with their family.

The house was determined a total loss and authorities have not identified the cause of the fire.
A family of four was inside the home at the time of the fire, but they escaped safely.
