ATHENS — East Hall continued its late surge for a playoff spot with a 14-0 rout of Cedar Shoals on Thursday in Region 8-4A action.
The Lady Vikings (9-8- 5-7 Region 8-4A) used an 11-run third inning to blow open a close game.
Amari Burce tossed a no-hitter in the circle striking out 11 and walking just three.
Ansley Ivey, Aniyah Smith, Burce, Elvie Armour, and Callie Dale all had RBI hits in the big inning.
It was the second straight region win for East Hall, which is just two games back of fourth place Cherokee Bluff with four gams left in the regular season.

HERITAGE-CONYERS 4-3
The Lady Dragons split a doubleheader with the Lady Patriots on Thursday in Region 8-5A.
Jefferson, which lost the first game 4-3, rebounded with a 5-3 win in the second game but dropped into fifth place in the region standings.
Taylor Spivey took the tough loss in the first game. Addison Self got the win for the Lady Dragons (13-9, 5-6 Region 8-5A) in the second game.
BUFORD 8
COLLINS HILL 0 (6 inn)
Class 7A No. 1-ranked Buford stayed unbeaten on the season with a Region 8-7A win at the Buford Softball Complex on Thursday.
Freshman Caroline Stanton (5-0) got the win tossing a one-hitter while striking out 10 in six innings.
Junior Adriana Martinez and senior Olivia Duncan both belted home runs to pace the offense. Martinez drove in three. Junior Madison Pickens had two hits and an RBI and freshman Addison Rackley had a RBI triple for the Lady Wolves.
Buford (18-0, 8-0 Region 8-7A) put the game away quickly with four runs in the bottom of the first, powered by the home runs from Duncan and Martinez.
Stanton took a no-hitter into the sixth but Collins Hill DH Camryn Williams rapped out a single to break it up.
The Lady Wolves next will play host to No. 3 Dacula on Tuesday in a huge region contest.
