CUMMING, Ga. — Habersham Central fought back from a pair of first-quarter deficits to beat Forsyth Central 28-21 on Friday at Forsyth County Stadium.

Turnovers played a huge part for both teams as three fumbles, and an interception by Forsyth Central led to three Habersham Central (2-2) scores. Two Raiders miscues led to one Bulldog touchdown.

It was a wild first quarter that saw 28 points scored.

Forsyth Central scored first on a 16-yard run by Jayce Todaro following a Habersham Central turnover midway through the first for a 7-0 lead. The Raiders answered on their next drive when Hayes Gunn scored from 15-yards to tie the game.

Two plays later the Bulldogs struck again with a 79-yard touchdown run from Justin Taylor. Habersham Central took control over the next six minutes scoring three times to take a 28-14 lead into halftime.

Carson Parker capped a long drive with a 5-yard TD run, and 90 seconds later, following a Forsyth Central turnover deep in its territory, Gunn scored his second TD 90 seconds later on a 2 -yard run. Just over five minutes later, Parker and Zeke Whittington connected on an 18-yard TD pass for the halftime lead.

It stayed that way until the Bulldogs got a 33-yard TD pass from Brady Smith to Camden Yeager to cut the lead to 28-21 with 4:52 left. But Habersham Central was able to hang on.

Parker had a huge game rushing for 113 yards and going a tidy 11-of-13 passing for 90 yards. Whittington had 7 catches for 79 yards for the Raiders. Gunn finished with 92 yards rushing for Habersham Central.

Taylor finished with 128 yards rushing to pace Forsyth Central. Yeager had 8 catches for 124 yards for the Bulldogs.
