SUWANEE, Ga. — No. 1 Buford rolled past Collins Hill behind a solid pitching performance, 11-0, on the road Tuesday.
Olivia Duncan, who earned the win, and Emma Grace Williams, in relief, combined for the team's fifth shutout of the season.
Duncan went three innings, giving st two hits and one walk while striking out three to pick up her sixth win. Williams pitched the final two innings, allowing three hits and striking out two.
The Lady Wolves (11-0, 4-0) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning but broke the game open in the second inning, scoring five runs. Junior Adriana Martinez (1-for-3, 4 RBIs) smashed her second grand slam of the season in the second inning to push the Lady Wolves' lead to 7-0.
In the fifth inning, the Lady Wolves tacked on four more runs, highlighted by a solo home run by senior Emma Castorri (2-for-3, 2 RBIs), her second of the year. Her long ball forced the run rule on Collins Hill (6-6, 1-2).
Junior Kylie Gower was 3-for-3, scoring two runs and stealing one base, and sophomore Isabel Rettiger was 1-for-3, scoring one run and driving in two.
Buford will play host to Class A defending champion Wesleyan on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.

Amari Burce tossed a no-hitter to lead the Lady Vikings past Cedar Shoals on Tuesday at East Hall Park.
Burce almost pitched the perfect game, giving up just one walk while striking out nine Bulldogs.
Elvie Armour started the Lady Vikings scoring in the first inning when she singled in a run. East Hall posted six more runs in the fourth inning on a Callie Dale single, a groundout by Burce, and an error on a ball put in play by Ansley Ivey.
East Hall racked up 12 hits on the day, with Gracie Ausborn, Dale and Lacei Bunte managing multiple hits. Ausborn led the Lady Vikings at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance.
East Hall (5-6, 2-5) will travel to Cherokee Bluff on Thursday. Game time is 7 p.m.
