Gwinnett police looking for suspect in stabbing death

Update, Tues., Sept 6: On Tuesday, the Gwinnett County Police released the identity of the man found stabbed to death. They say that Matthew Jones, 44, of Suwanee, was the victim.

According to a release from Hideshi Valle with the Gwinnett County Police Department, investigators have still not determined a motive. "At this time, a motive is not clear, and witnesses are encouraged to call GCPD Investigators or Atlanta Crime Stoppers with any helpful information."

Original Story, Mon., Sept. 5: Gwinnett County police are investigating an apparent stabbing death that took place in Suwanee on Monday morning.

Officers responding to a 10 a.m. medical call arrived at a home on Ridge Oak Drive to find a deceased male, said to be in his 40's, lying in the front yard. The man had suffered an apparent stab wound prior to his death.

"At this time, the motive for the incident is unknown and no arrests have been made," said Gwinnett Police Cpl. W.D. Wolfe. "Gwinnett County Police investigators are asking the public to contact the police department with any information relevant to this investigation."
