Softball: EHall, NHall, Buford all get region wins

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Amari Burce tossed a one-hit shutout to lead East Hall to a 12-0 win over Chestatee in four innings on Thursday in Region 8-4A action.

Burce struck out nine and walked none in four innings. She allowed just a first-inning single.

The Lady Vikings (4-3, 2-3 Region 8-4A) jumped on the Lady War Eagles (5-7, 0-6 Region 8-4A) quickly with a seven run first inning. Burce added a two-run triple in the second and East Hall scored three runs in the fourth to put it out of reach.

East Hall pounded out 15 hits for the game. Callie Dale and Aniyah Smith each had three hits while Kyleigh Kytle, Gracie Ausborn, and Elvie Armour all had two hits for the Lady Vikings. Burce and Haley Barton eac had one hit for the Lady Vikings.

Lacie James had the lone hit for Chestatee.


NORTH HALL 8,
SECKINGER 2

Six different players recorded an RBI as the Lady Trojans took a big Region 8-4A win on the road on Thursday.

Genesis Satterfield and KB Seabolt each had two hits and 2 RBI to pace North Hall (5-6, 2-4 Region 8-4A) at the plate. Jacey Smith had three hits and an RBI while Mac Taylor, Bre Stowers and Ashley Callahan each drove in a run.

Taylor started the game in the circle and pitched three innings giving up two runs on three hits. Olivia Mullins pitched the final four innings in relief surrendering just one hit.


BUFORD OPENS 8-7A PLAY WITH HUGE WIN

Buford opened its Region 8-7A schedule in impressive style with an 11-0 rout of Mountain View in five innings at the Buford Softball Complex.

Caroline Stanton paced the Buford offense with a pair of home runs and drove in five for the game. The Lady Wolves (7-0, 1-0 Region 8-7A) scored three in the first, two in the third, and exploded for six runs in the fourth to put it away.

Senior Olivia Duncan was dominant in the circle improving to 4-0 scattering three hits, striking out three, and walking none. She also homered in the third inning.

In the big fourth inning, Mackenzie Pickens, Adriana Martinez, Tavye Borders, and Kylie Gower all singled with a huge triple by Emma Castorri.

Bella Teems took the loss for Mountain View giving up seven hits and five runs over three innings.
