Maggie Johnson was impressive in the circle for the Lady Titans, going seven innings, four hits and 10 strikeouts to earn the win.

East Hall freshman Amari Burce was just as impressive against the 2021 Class 4A state runner-ups, also going the distance, allowing one run on five hits.

Petty drove in five runs, and James brought four home in the win. The two also smashed a home run.

Chestatee took the lead in the first inning, 3-0, and Gainesville closed the gap in the second with two runs.

But the Lady War Eagles blew the game open with a six-run fourth inning that included Petty's three-run homer.
