The Flowery Branch Police Department was called on Friday to investigate a suspicious package found at the Stonebridge shopping center. Citizens called officers about two duffle bags they saw in the parking lot.

The police department enlisted the help of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 bomb unit.

“There was no explosive and nothing suspicious, so there was really nothing to it,” said Flowery Branch Police Chief Chris Hulsey.

Officers were also able to find the person who left the duffle bags. They were filled with clothes and paper.

Although it was a false alarm, Hulsey encourages citizens to call the police department if they see anything suspicious.

“We don't mind those kinds of calls coming in,” Hulsey said.
