The Gwinnett County Police Department found a missing Lilburn child Sunday afternoon and safely returned the girl to her father.
Max Clendenin, 3, was playing in her front yard on Saturday with her father. Her father stepped inside the home around 3:20 p.m., and when he came back outside his daughter had disappeared.
Authorities started an investigation and believed Clendenin’s mother, Magdaline Geffrard, took her. The Gwinnett County Police Department tried to call Geffrard several times on Sunday during the early morning hours.
Geffrard eventually answered, and officers determined Clendenin was with her. Around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Gwinnett County Police officers helped facilitate Clendenin’s return back to her father.
According to Gwinnett County Police Department Cpl. W.D. Wolfe, no charges will be pressed.
“There was a temporary custody agreement,” Cpl. Wolfe said. “But in order for that agreement to be enforced, [Geffrard] had to be served with it, which she was not at that time. So the main concern was just getting the child back to her father, confirming she was actually taken by the mother and just ensuring she was safe.”
