A Flowery Branch man has been arrested after Gwinnett County authorities determined he was running an illegal gambling operation under a guise of a charitable organization.

Dennis Maxwell, 51, now faces a felony charge of Commercial Gambling, and a misdemeanor charge of Keeping a Gambling Place in relation to the ongoing investigation.

Gwinnett County police say his business, named Little Kings and Queens, was the site of the gambling operation.

Located at 554 W. Main St NE in Buford, the business claims on its website that it "host[s] events on a daily basis, poker tournaments, casino events, fireworks sales and more," with all proceeds going to support "causes like education, cancer veterans [sic], poor, animal and more."

Police also seized $30,000 in illegal funds from the business, which has since closed.
