No one was injured, but a garage at a Gainesville home was damaged by fire Friday morning.

According to a press release from the Gainesville Fire Department, crews responded at about 7:30 a.m. to the home in the 100 block of Thompson Place.

Crews found light smoke showing from the home when they arrived. Crews found a fire in the garage, which they were able to quickly extinguish.

The fire was contained to a few construction items in the garage. An investigation determined a trash bag filled with construction debris as the origin of the fire. Damage was estimated at about $2,000.

The home appeared to be under construction for a remodel, according to Gainesville Fire. No one was home at the time of the fire.

The Fire Marshal's office was investigating the cause of the fire as of Friday morning.
