ATHENS, Ga. – The 2022 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic game time has been set.
Georgia and Oregon will tee it up at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
It'll be the second meeting between the two programs and will pit former Georgia defensive coordinator, now Oregon head coach, Dan Lanning against his former boss, Kirby Smart.
The Bulldogs won the first meeting, in 1977, 27-16 at Sanford Stadium.
It'll also be Georgia's third time playing in the annual kickoff classic. The Bulldogs beat North Carolina, 33-24, in 2016 and fell to Bosie State, 35-21, in 2011.
Georgia was scheduled to face off against Virginia to open the 2020 season in Atlanta, but the matchup was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
