Driver passed out at a McDonald's drive-thru arrested on drug charges

A driver passed out in the drive-thru lane of a Flowery Branch McDonald’s led to a drug arrest. On Sunday, the driver was found passed out behind the wheel in the drive-thru. When officers from the Flowery Branch Police Department arrived, they were able to wake the driver, Charles Lamar Hayes, 47 of Flowery Branch.

According to the Flowery Branch Police Department, officers questioned the driver and investigated further, finding drugs in the car. They found 89 grams of marijuana, approximately 52 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 85 tablets of suspected ecstasy, a handgun, and several other drug-related objects.

As a result, Hayes was arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Trafficking Ecstasy, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Drug-Related Object.
