Posted 7:15PM on Tuesday 3rd May 2022 ( 1 year ago )

A Baldwin man is jailed in Habersham County on four counts of sexual exploitation of a child through Snapchat.

21-year-old Zach Bulman of Heritage Gardens Drive in Baldwin was arrested following an interview with sheriff’s investigators Tuesday.

“During that interview, Mr. Bulman admitted to having multiple email addresses,” said Sheriff’s Investigator Kevin Angell. “He had multiple Snapchat accounts with falsified registration information. And then subsequently admitted to possessing the child pornography videos.”

Bulman’s phone was taken into evidence and is being processed under a search warrant to determine any additional victims or charges, Angell said.

If Bulman is found guilty on the four felony charges, he could face three to five years in prison and potentially being labeled as a sex offender, Angell said.

This remains an active investigation.

Background

On Tuesday, May 3, Habersham County Sheriff’s Office investigators assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce reviewed four separate complaints received through the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

“As we dug into the case and we looked at subpoenas for the IP address for where that Snapchat user was, we located Zach Bulman in Baldwin,” Angell said.

Investigators contacted Bulman at the address related to the Snapchat user account information and asked him to meet them for an interview.

The complaints detailed four separate incidents of a Snapchat user possessing Child Pornography in the form of videos between May 2021 and January 2022.

First local ICAC case in Habersham County

Bulman’s arrest marks the first local Internet Crimes Against Children arrest in Habersham County.

The ICAC Investigation Team consists of Commander Lt. Heidi Lass, Sgt. Wesley Welborn, Investigators Cale Garrison, Eric Newcomb, and Angell. All have been through ICAC training, which allows them to view the images and understand the source of them, as well as work with social media and be able to conduct the investigations.
