Garrett Smith, Carson Ferguson, and Jadon Frame all scored their first Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series victories over the weekend.

Smith was the winner on Thursday night at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina, with Ferguson topped the field on Friday night at Tennessee’s Crossville Speedway. Frame closed out the weekend with a win on Saturday night at Tennessee’s Clarkesville Speedway.

On Thursday night, Garrett Smith survived an attrition filled race at Tri-County Race Track to record his first career series victory.

The Eatonton, Georgia racer jumped to the lead over Payton Freeman, then survived nine caution flags – seven of which flew in the final seven laps – to score the win and the $4,053 payday.

“I had a really good car all night,” said Smith after leading flag-to-flag. “I got the jump on the initial start of the race and took the lead early. The top of the track was cleaning off up there and I figured those guys behind me were coming at the end. It was starting to dust off and clean up to where you could run around the whole corner. I just have to thank all of my great sponsors and my crew for all of their hard work.”

Freeman followed in second, with Carson Ferguson in third, Jamie Oliver in fourth, and Kenny Collins in fifth.

On Friday night, Carson Ferguson broke through in a big way with his first career series victory at Crossville Speedway.

The Lincolnton, North Carolina racer took the lead from Josh Putnam on lap 31, and led the remaining laps to score the win and the $4,053 winner’s paycheck.

“Man, I’m tickled,” Ferguson said. “I usually like the track slow and slick, but it was pretty hammer down out there tonight. I’ve got to thank all of my crew guys, my girlfriend, and my dad. I didn’t know what tire to put on and we talked to Mr. Randy Weaver and he guided us in the right direction. I really want to thank him for that. Me and Josh (Putnam) ran good there for awhile and as you can probably tell, I’ve never thrown a slider in my life. But I made it work and did it when it counted.”

Putnam, Payton Freeman, Garrett Smith, and Kyle Beard rounded out the top five.

On Saturday night, Jadon Frame rounded out the weekend of first time winners with his first career series victory at Clarkesville Speedway.

Frame, who hails from Winchester, Tennessee, started the 53-lap feature from the third starting spot, and outdueled outside pole sitter Carson Ferguson to grab the lead on lap 26.

The battle wasn’t over, but Frame finally took the lead for the final time on lap 29. From there, he held off Brian Shirley over the closing laps to take the win and the $10,053 first place prize money.

“I’m really speechless,” stated Frame. “I never thought I would be able to get past Carson (Ferguson), as he was so good early in the race. Lapped traffic helped in my favor and my Capital racecar was just flawless tonight. I have to thank my entire family and everyone who helps on the car, along with all of my sponsors.”

Shirley followed in second, with Ferguson in third, Josh Putnam in fourth, and Payton Freeman in fifth.
