Suspects arrested in shooting death of Winder man

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested two men who are accused of killing Lane Michael Bullard, 19 of Winder, on April 11.

 

Brantavious Sims, 18 of Winder, was arrested at his home on April 13 without incident. Jayquan Crawford, 17 of Statham, turned himself into the Barrow County detention center on April 14.

 

According to a press release from the Barrow County Sheriff's Office, Sims is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Crawford is charged with party to the crime of a murder.

 

Sims and Crawford have been denied bond and were in custody as of Monday morning at the Barrow County Detention Center.

Authorities are investigating after a Winder man was found shot to death in Barrow County Monday.
 
Two motorists called the Winder Police Department around 5 p.m. after they discovered the man’s body along the perimeter of City Pond Park. 
 
The man was identified as Lane Michael Bullard, 19. His body had multiple gunshot wounds and was found next to a vehicle on a dirt road. 
 
The incident happened outside of city limits and was turned over to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office. The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office then requested assistance from the GBI.
 
The GBI Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy of Bullard’s body.
