It was the second straight win for the Red Elephants (10-12, 3-9 Region 6-7A) and gave Gainesville a season sweep of the Bulldogs (8-15, 5-7 Region 6-7A).

Gainesville opened the game with a five-run first inning to grab a quick lead but the Bulldogs responded with four runs in the third and one in the fifth to tie the game. The Red Elephants reclaimed the lead at 6-5 in the sixth before Forsyth Central tied the game with a run in the top of the seventh to set up the final dramatic ending.
