GAINESVILLE — The Lakeview girls were on fire in the 10-0 win over Dawson County at Lions Field on Senior Night Tuesday.

Seniors Millie and McKenna Filson led the Lady Lions with two goals each, while seniors Sara Nivens, Virginia Cobb, Claire Morgan, Arwa Sharif and Lauren Scott each scored one, as well as sophomore Annie Nivens.

Seniors Ella Grace Leek and Angela Lynden helped set up multiple goals, and senior goalkeeper Celia Wilson-Patino paced a strong defensive effort in the Lady Lions' seventh shutout in the last nine games.

Lakeview will play its final regular-season game on Thursday at Gainesville. Game time is set for 5 p.m.

The Lakeview boys' senior night didn't end as they would have liked as they fell to Dawson County, 3-1. The Lions grabbed the lead in the first two minutes of the game on a pass from Bryan Ramsey to Liam Weidner for the goal.

Dawson County, however, tied it up later on a penalty kick and scored again to go up, 2-1, at the half. The Tigers scored again late in the match to go up 3-1.

Goalkeeper Lewis Coyle recorded 14 saves in goal for the Lions.

The Lions will play Gainesville on Thursday. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at City Park.
