A man from Claxton, Georgia, died in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Jefferson.
According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, troopers responded at about 5:16 p.m. to the accident at the intersection of Horace Head Road Dry Pond Road.
Troopers determined Antonia Janae Pittman, 17, of Commerce was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer. The Blazer was stopped on Horace Head Road and was attempting to turn left onto Dry Pond Road. Pittman allegedly failed to yield while turning left and entered the path of a 2007 Yamaha XV1900CT motorcycle driven by Austin Leroy Walker, 23, of Claxton.
Walker was seriously injured in the incident. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Georgia State Patrol was still investigating the accident as of the last report. The release said charges are pending.
