GAINESVILLE — The Gainesville boys tennis team beat Flowery Branch 4-1 on Tuesday at Longwood Park.
The Red Elephants swept the doubles with Andrew Elliott and Samuel Holt beating Mason Foreman and Logan Magnuson 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 while Jacob Nguyen and Reed Slack beat Eli King and Harrison Garrison 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.
In singles, Gainesville’s Philip Mady beat Brayden Jackson 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 and Kamyaab Cornett knocked off Santino Sengson 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
The Falcons got their lone win at No. 2 singles with Josh Warren beating Gunner Lilly 6-2, 6-0.
BUFORD TEAMS SWEEP CENTRAL GWINNETT
The Buford tennis teams swept Central Gwinnett in a pair of 5-0 wins in Region 8-6A play in Lawrenceville to their regular season finales.
The Buford boys (15-3, 6-0 Region 8-6A) were led by Miller Troutt, Matthew Maurer, and Nic Keller in singles and the doubles tandems of Grayson Gilbert and Luke Clark, along with Dillon Dombroski and Owen Sampers.
The Lady Wolves (15-3, 6-0 Region 8-6A) were led by Berkley Clark, Hannah Davidson, and Abigail Foretic in singles. The doubles teams of Anna Cate Smith and Delaney Richards, along with Ella Place and Millie Patel, also got wins.
Both teams are off until the Region 8-6A Tournament next week at Buford City Park.
NORTH HALL SWEEPS GILMER IN 7-3A
Both North Hall teams took 5-0 Region 7-3A wins at home on Tuesday.
For the girls, who improved to a perfect 6-0 in region play, they lost just one set. Gabbie Jenkins, Callie Clark, and Kayla Miller all got wins in singles.
In doubles, at No. 1 Ella Kate Canaday and Lilly Perry lost just two games and Riley Morgan and Tori Mullins lost just three games at No. 2
The North Hall boys, who are now 5-1 in region play, did not lose a set.
Jack Maddox, Austin Copper, and Griffin Keener all took wins in singles. The doubles teams of Clay Martin and Luis Delgado and Nate Marshall and Jaycob Wagner got wins as well.
North Hall next will travel to Lumpkin County on Wednesday to close out the regular season.
