The annual Mutts on Main pet expo will return to the Gainesville square on Saturday, March 26.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will highlight dog adoptions and fostering at the Hall County Animal Shelter, according to a press release from the City of Gainesville.

Main Street Manager Nicole Ricketts said attendees can enjoy a noon fashion show highlighting local boutiques and dogs up for adoption. The event will feature other pet contests including "best dressed," "best trick" and "look alike." All proceeds from the $5 entry fee will support adoptions at the animal shelter.

“The downtown square is a pet-friendly environment on any day, but this day we celebrate all things dogs – and there will be dogs everywhere!" Ricketts said. "Bring your dog, shop for your dog, enjoy other people’s dogs, enjoy dog entertainment and, hopefully, we’ll see as many dogs adopted as possible from our partners who work together as the main response teams in Gainesville-Hall County. In-person adoptions at the event will be hosted by the Hall County Animal Shelter. Follow the @DowntownGainesvilleGA Facebook page for more details!”

Aside from events on stage, guests can also visit the Hall County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit at 11 a.m., enjoy the Becky Simon Band at 1 p.m., watch a disc dog show by K9s in Flight at 2 p.m. and visit the Gainesville Police Department's K-9 officers at 3 p.m.

The Main Street Gainesville booth will be offering free dog leashes and pet treats for the first 100 people to stop by.

Bradford Street will be closed during the event, and anyone driving in the area is encouraged to take caution for pedestrians and pets.
