A deadly crash happened right in front of the Lawrenceville Police Headquarters over the weekend. The crash came at the end of a pursuit by Lawrenceville police.

A Lawrenceville police officer was pursuing a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu south on Scenic Highway. Burns said the person driving the Malibu ran a red light and hit a Chevrolet truck driven by Augustin Anzurez, 21 of Bogart, GA.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Anzurez was driving west on Jackson Street when the Malibu struck his truck on the passenger side. The car flipped upside down and landed on a nearby sidewalk. Anzurez was killed at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the Malibu who was running from police has been identified as Christian Price, 22 years old from Charlotte, NC. Price was taken to the hospital for injuries that do not appear to be life threatening. There was also one passenger in his car, but that person had no injuries.

There is no word of any charges or arrests.

More updates are expected as the investigation by the Georgia State Patrol continues.
