The Oakwood Police Department has released a flyer stating they are currently searching for police officers to expand their mission.
Minimum requirements include:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and have a valid Georgia license,
- Georgia POST Certification is preferred.
- Applicant must have good driver's history and good criminal history.
Benefits include:
- Competitive salary, negotiable with experience.
- Accrued sick leave, eight hours per month.
- Vacation leave, with 40 hours to start.

- Take home vehicle within 30 miles.
Unique benefits:
- City pays 100% medical insurance.
- City pays 100% retirement, 90% after 25 years.

- Comp time allowed, with a 480 hour cap.
According to the flyer, preference will be given to candidates who are already certified as Georgia Law Enforcement Officers, but non-certified candidates are also encouraged to apply.
